Craft House Opening, New Vendors, and Summer Plans at Riddle Hill Homestead
Hello Everyone!
I know these newsletters have been a bit sporadic lately, but I wanted to take this opportunity to catch you up on all the exciting plans we’ve been working on since my February and March updates. After a long, chilly winter, I was feeling quite ambitious! Our outdoor glass demo area is still in progress, but if everything goes smoothly, we’re on track to have it ready before summer ends. I’m also still eager to bring you a Saturday mini-market — though we’re starting with just one market first to keep things manageable. Plus, we’re exploring the possibility of indoor markets during the winter months, so stay tuned!
We’ve welcomed some wonderful new vendors:
Cherry Hill Market Stand Gunther’s Goodies
Imagine That Studios
Kent Ignacio (Artist)
Love at First Bite
Way to the End Acres
As you may have seen in previous newsletters, my art studio is finally in a usable, if not fully finished, state. Thanks to the delicious baked goods from Love at First Bite and Cherry Hill Market Stand, I’ve been able to enjoy a healthier, more balanced kitchen and daily life. I couldn’t do this without the incredible support of Melodie and Ashley — I truly appreciate everything you do!
On that note, I’m excited to share that I’ve teamed up with Mary Ignacio of Way to the End Acres to focus on bringing the dream studio to life. We’ve been working diligently to prepare the Craft House, which we plan to open in the coming weeks.
The Craft House and my personal studio are separate spaces, both nestled on our charming, historic homestead that’s over 230 years old. When we started on these buildings, they were in rough shape, but with three years of hard work, we’ve rehabilitated two of them. The first, located behind the cookie shop, is my personal studio — home to my kilns and torches. The other, a charming 1980s house behind our home, is the new Craft House where we’ll be hosting classes and open studio sessions.
When we open, join us for a class or open studio time! Feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks—plates, cups, wine glasses, and bottle openers will be available. Yes, wine glasses! Bring a bottle of wine and some friends for a fun, relaxed time of creating, sharing memories, and crafting together. While we haven’t quite checked off every goal yet, we see our progress as a valuable learning experience about how long such projects really take. And now that we’re nearing the finish line of the Craft House, expect more frequent updates — the news will be coming fast and furious!
As always, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your continued support. Your encouragement keeps us moving forward, and we couldn’t do any of this without you.
And to show our appreciation for our wonderful community, Jim and I are excited to host a free outdoor movie night! We’ll be screening on an inflatable big screen, and guests are encouraged to bring their own blankets, chairs, and bug spray. This event is our way of saying thank you — a fun, relaxed evening for everyone to enjoy. I’ll be posting on our social media pages to gather movie suggestions, and please note, this will be a licensed screening, not a public domain showing so newer movies will be an option.
We hope to see you soon!
Michelle and Jim
